Daily writing prompt
What’s the kindest thing someone has ever done for you?

The One, Eternal and All-Powerful God,

while I was yet shaking my fist in defiance at Him,

in His perfect wisdom, love and holiness,

which required just judgment for my evil decisions,

according to His Word,

sent His son, Jesus Christ,

who took my willful and ignorant sins upon himself,

and suffered an unjust and excruciatingly painful death,

enduring the separation from God that I had for all eternity earned,

and through the blood of his cross,

(because without blood there is no remission of sins),

made peace with God on my behalf,

paying the debt that could only be satisfied by my own death,

so that Our Father would be free to forgive me of my sins,

and save me from His eternal wrath.

Today, I have new, eternal life in Jesus Christ,

as a citizen in the Kingdom of God,

living in light instead of darkness,

as the sun shines in its strength,

being reborn by water and the Spirit.

I have been crucified with Christ.

It is no longer I who live,

but Christ who lives in me.

And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God,

who loved me and gave himself for me.

And, believe it or perish, it was the kindest thing someone has ever done for you, too.

May you find Him now.
